A Family Affair

In the documentary Mimi and Dona, Mimi is a Dallas nonagenarian who cares for her mentally challenged daughter, Dona. The pair have lived together for more than 60 years, but with Mimi’s advancing age, she faces the unthinkable: committing Dona to an assisted living facility. This hour, we’ll talk to the film’s director, Sophie Sartain, about the challenges of telling her family’s story. Mimi and Dona screens Thursday night as part of VideoFest.
